BULLS RECRUITING HEAD OF STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

Bradford Bulls RLFC are looking to recruit a Head of Strength and Conditioning Coach to work with the First Team.

Purpose of the role

Working as part of the performance and medical team the successful candidate will be responsible for the physical testing, development, monitoring, and education of the First Team.

Key responsibilities

-        Plan, deliver and evaluate strength and conditioning sessions for the First Team.

-        Work with the coaches to optimise training procedures and appropriately individualise training sessions.

-        Plan, deliver and report on the physical testing of all members of the First Team.

-        Work closely with the performance team with the planning of each squads weekly training schedule.

-        Work with the medical staff to optimise and monitor recovery and return to play protocols. 

-        Implementation of appropriate nutrition and hydration strategies for young players. 

-        Assist the medical department in the design and implementation of pre-training injury reduction sessions. 

-        Work closely with medical staff to ensure relevant monitoring (e.g. RPE) for the Academy is collected daily and information is fed back to coaching staff in an appropriate format. 

-        Liaise with the governing body on best practice and research opportunities. 

-        Game day responsibilities as outlined by the coaching staff. 

-        Other appropriate duties as required. 

Technical Specification 

Essential 

-        Degree in Sports Science or relevant discipline 

-        Experience of planning, delivering, and evaluating strength and conditioning sessions within a team sport 

-        Valid and accepted Enhanced DBS or be willing to undertake this check if successful 

-        Full driving license

Desirable 

-        Strength and Conditioning recognised qualification (e.g. UKSCA, CSCS)

-        Post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline 

-        Experience of working in a professional Rugby League environment

-        Relevant first aid qualification

Qualities and Experience

-        Extensive knowledge of strength and conditioning interventions and how these affect both individual and team performance 

-        The ability to apply S&C theories and methodology within a youth development setting 

-        Experience of working in high pressure situations 

-        Excellent inter-personal and communication skills 

-        Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks 

-        Proactive attitude within the role 

-        The ability to present relevant information in a concise and clear manner 

-        Flexibility and ability to learn

The salary for this post is competitive dependant on the candidate’s experience.
