MORE TO COME FROM YOUNG BACK HAMLETT

REECE Hamlett has insisted there is still more to come from him and his team-mates after returning to the field after almost a year out, against a strong Swinton Lions outfit.

The young outside back, who has impressed John Kear in pre-season, was rewarded with a start in the first friendly game of 2021 and caught the eye of supporters and coaches after a strong performance.

Hamlett, who signed from Super League side Warrington Wolves in late 2020, is looking to cement a first team place in 2021 and show the Bradford supporters just what he is capable of.

After playing the majority of the match, Hamlett has suggested that although he was happy with his game, ‘there is still more to come’.

“It was a good performance from me and the boys, we didn’t get the win, but I still feel there’s more we could have done, and they’ll be more to come in the coming weeks," said Hamlett, who is sponsored by The Pitchside Crew.

“The body’s feeling really sore now but that’s how it will be after being out for so long.

“As the game went on the changes did obviously affect us but the most important thing is that everyone got some minutes on the pitch.

“Everyone’s been buzzing to get back out there and the excitement pre match was unmatchable, we just want to get back out there again.

“Hopefully I’ve put my name in his head to (Kear) to play in the next games, I’ve really been trying in training and on the pitch today.

“It gives me confidence that the coach believes in me and will give me that chance, even if I do something wrong, he’ll guide me in the right direction”.
