WALKER AND CALLAND JOIN ON TRIAL

BRADFORD Bulls are delighted to announce that Ant Walker and Brad Calland have both joined the club on a one-month trial period.

A familiar name in Rugby League, Ant Walker has previously represented a plethora of clubs, racking up 89 appearances, whilst also playing for the Welsh international team in the 2013 Rugby League world cup.

However, in 2017, Walker was diagnosed with a brain condition which halted his playing, although three years after, he has been cleared again to play and will be looking to impress Bradford head coach John Kear in pre-season.

Brad Calland is a versatile option who primarily features as a back rower and he will be looking to add depth to the squad and impress head coach John Kear.

Calland previously represented Widnes Vikings U19’s and scored against the Bulls in 2019 for the Vikings.

"Ant Walker has plenty of Super League experience and he played for me at Wales and Wakefield - I know him really well and he is a very good player.

"He had to sit out on medical grounds but he is completely clear and we are giving him a way back into professional Rugby League and I am certain he will take that opportunity.

"Brad too is a player we have brought in from Widnes, we had a tip off which indicated this is a young man with real good character and potential.

"We have brought him over to stick him out, we will see how well he goes and they will both feature against Keighley as well as Swinton - that is what we have promised and agreed."
