BRADFORD Bulls are seeking a Physiotherapist to join the team's medical department as Assistant First Team Physio/Head of Academy Physiotherapy.

Application closing date: 02/10/2020 A fantastic opportunity has arisen at our Club for an 1st team assistant/ Academy Physiotherapist/ Sports Therapist/ Sport Rehab to join the Bulls Medical Department. 

Responsibilities are as follows: 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Communicate and promote the Academy culture creating an elite environment for the development of young players. 

Have consistently high standards. Communicate and engage with staff/players/parents/guardians where appropriate. 

Attend all club and departmental professional development events. 

Actively engage in a fully functioning competency framework and integrated appraisal process. 

Monitor the wellbeing of Academy players at all times liaising with the Head of Medical Services. 

Ensure compliance with all the Policies and Procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying particular regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy and Health & Safety Policy and procedures at all times. 

ACADEMY RESPONSIBILITIES 

To ensure that medical notes are confidential as well as completed. 

Assessment and management of injuries and illnesses to the academy squads, including relevant referral to internal and external health professionals. 

Accurate recording of all injuries. Maintain a comprehensive database of work conducted with athletes and coaches. 

To include current medical status, medical notes, rehabilitation and prehabilitation programmes, medical/orthopaedic/movement screen results, individual physical targets and session content and attendance. 

Management, design and implementation of the medical, orthopaedic and movement screening programmes for the academy. 

Collate, analyse and feedback relevant medical information to the appropriate Club staff for all academy players. This is to include updates on injured players, rehabilitation programmes, return to train/play dates and injury audits (but must respect and abide by medical confidentiality laws). 

The delivery of warm up and cool down elements within the match day and coaching programme, as required. 

Assist with the delivery of individual and group strength and conditioning services to our academy players, as necessary. 

Design and dissemination of individual injury prehab programmes. 

Provision of medical cover for training and match day fixtures for our academy squads. 

Work effectively with other support staff and services, including doctors/sport science services, to provide an integrated approach to performance enhancement.

FIRST TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Head of Medical with medical screenings

Assist the Head of Medical on gamedays as part of the match day emergency pitch side team.

Assist with the delivery of prehab programmes.

Provide pitch side cover for training and gamedays. 

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

Lead on the management of injuries for the academy players, in liaison with the Head of Medical and coaches.

Contribute to and monitor the management of the injuries to the academy players, where necessary. 

Assist the Head of Medicine with the recruitment of University placement students and part time physiotherapists, where necessary. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

BSc in Physiotherapy/ Sports Therapy/ Sports Rehab as a minimum. 

Member of the HCPC/ SST/ BASRAT Pitch side Trauma qualification – IMMOF/ ITMIFF/ EMMITS etc. 

Current DBS clearance 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

Excellent verbal and written communication Knowledge of musculoskeletal assessment and rehabilitation of elite level athletes (pediatrics & adult) 

Ability to analyse and interpret movement patterns and posture Experience and understanding of injury minimisation strategies. 

Excellent computer literacy, specifically in the use of Microsoft Office. 

Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Full and clean UK driving licence
