FLANAGAN RARING TO GO AHEAD OF POTENTIAL RETURN

GEORGE Flanagan admits he is raring to go ahead of his potential return from suspension this weekend – as Bradford Bulls welcome Underbank Rangers to the Tetley’s Stadium.
The 33-year-old last featured in August’s trip to Barrow Raiders and could pull on the red, amber and black for Sunday’s Coral Challenge Cup clash.
Bradford-born Flanagan could make his 200th career appearance – if selected.
And after a long, tough pre-season schedule – the hooker knows he has a battle on his hands to earn a jersey following the impressive form of Sam Hallas and Thomas Doyle.
“It has been a long pre-season – I haven’t played since Barrow away last year so pre-season has been long and tough,” said Flanagan, who is sponsored by Blade Access.
“I have been training long hours and doing things on my day off – I am in good physical condition I just need to get up to the speed of games.
“I will hopefully get that this week and then going forward and I hope we see a new George Flanagan – I have had some dark days and want to put that behind me.
“I will still play the same way but I am just looking forward to getting back and helping the boys, I am in a good place I just want the ball in my hand.
“That is something I spoke to the coaching staff about I just want some minutes in my legs – it will be hard for me to get back in the team with what Sam Hallas and young Thomas Doyle are doing.
“If I get the chance I have to show my worth but we are all in it together and whoever gets selected gets selected.”
