HURLEY APPOINTED EDUCATION OFFICER

Bradford Bulls Foundation are delighted to officially welcome Michael (Mickey) Hurley to the team as Education Officer.

The Bradford Bulls Foundation is delighted to officially welcome Michael (Mickey) Hurley to the team as our new Education Officer.

“As a lifelong Bulls fan, former local junior, and Bulls Scholar, it's fantastic to be back working with the club through the Foundation. I still remember how good it was when the Bulls visited my school, and I’m determined to bring that buzz back”.

“My goal is to get the Bulls into more schools and get more kids active through PE lessons, lunchtime sessions, and after-school clubs. I also want to encourage more boys and girls to get into rugby by running primary and secondary school competitions and helping link them up with local teams. It’s all about growing the game here in Bradford and seeing those same kids onto the terraces at Odsal,” said Michael.

Mickey has already been working with the Foundation over the past two months, showing great energy, commitment, and alignment with our mission to make a positive difference in the Bradford community.

Shaun Flynn, Foundation Manager, added: “The Foundation continues to grow and make real strides in the community. Mickey has embraced the challenge and already grown our school’s partnership and is already planning events that will also link with schools.

With his experience in rugby league and his involvement with his local club, Silsden — where he was part of a group that shaped the return of the club  — it was an easy decision to make Micky a permanent fixture. His passion for the game and Bradford Bulls is going to be a massive plus for us.”

Mickey’s role will focus on expanding our school outreach, increasing physical activity among young people, and building stronger links between schools, community clubs, and the Bradford Bulls. His appointment is a key step in growing the game at grassroots level and fostering lifelong connections with rugby league.
