BULLS MAKE IT BACK TO BACK WINS

A dominant first-half display laid the platform as Bradford Bulls made it two wins from two with a 38-20 win over a dogged Hunslet RLFC this afternoon.

The Bulls made four changes to the side that beat London in Round One, with Nathan Mason, Tyran Ott and Michael Lawrence all welcomed back into the fold alongside debutant Bayley Liu.

An explosive start saw Brian Noble’s side score three tries in the opening ten minutes.

Fresh off his try-scoring exploits last week, Jorge Taufua collected a looping pass from Tom Holmes to finish superbly in the corner.

On the following set, Ott made a scything break through the Hunslet defence before finding the supporting James Meadows for his first try in Bradford colours.

10-0 became 16-0 soon after when a number of neat offloads sent Liu storming over for his first try, on debut.

Just before the end of the opening quarter, Liu grabbed his second after crashing onto a short pass from Lilley.

The Bulls continued to probe but Noah Booth picked off a pass and ran the length of the field to get Hunslet on the board.

Lilley got on the scoresheet himself with a nice individual effort, stepping past numerous Hunslet defenders to score under the posts.

He then kicked Bradford two points further ahead on the hooter after a penalty infringement.

The home side were much improved in the second half and used the wind to their advantage to enjoy more territory in the Bulls’ half.

Bradford however were next to trouble the scoreboard operator with Franklin Pele crashing over in unstoppable fashion.

Hunslet responded with two quickfire tries to reduce the deficit, before another well taken effort from Taufua in the corner for his second try of the contest.

On the back of a drop out, the home side would notch a fourth score but that would be all she wrote in a pulsating encounter, the Bulls two wins from two and top of the Betfred Championship.
