WIDNES MATCH REPORT

Bradford Bulls fell to a 25-6 defeat against Widnes Vikings at the DCBL Stadium this afternoon.

With 12 players injured and three suspended, Eamon O’Carroll called upon the loan duo of Dan Okoro and Zach Fishwick to bolster his side.

An attritional opening twenty saw neither defence breached before a familiar face opened the scoring for the Bulls.

A slick move out right saw Jayden Myers feed Max Lehmann, with the Australian winger scoring his fourth try in just five matches.

The home side battled back into proceedings and a looping pass sent Ryan Ince over to reduce the arrears.

With the Bulls leading at the break, Widnes came firing out of the blocks at the start of the second half and seized the initiative, which they would retain for the remainder.

The Vikings took advantage of a reshuffle on the right edge following the loss of Myers to a HIA, with a short side play that sent Ince over for his second.

That brace became a hat trick soon after with a cutout pass from Gilmore sending the winger over.

Mike Butt on the opposite wing then got in on the act, touching down a Fozard grubber in the right corner.

Gilmore then nudged Widnes further ahead, before Max Roberts’ try on the hooter sealed the spoils for Allan Coleman’s side.
