THE SCOOTER STAYS!

Bradford Bulls are delighted to announce Mitch Souter has signed a new one-year deal with the club!

The 23-year-old joined the Bulls last October and quickly cemented himself as a fans’ favourite on the terraces at Bartercard Odsal Stadium.

‘The Scooter’ has made 18 appearances this season, scoring six tries – with his dynamic, attacking play helping Eamon O’Carroll’s side reach joint-third place in the Betfred Championship table at the halfway stage.

Mitch has spoken of his excitement at what the future holds at the club, with the hooker also paying tribute to the Bulls’ supporters.

“I’m really pleased, I settled in really quickly here and I get along really well with the coaching staff and players. I’m really excited to be sharing this with everyone and it’s something that makes me really excited for the future,” said Souter, who is sponsored by M&S Combustion Ltd.

“I have settled even quicker than I’d hoped, the playing group, Eamon and the rest of the staff played a big part in why I settled so quick.

“They were all really accommodating and it showed the Bulls really are a family club and that is something I want to be a part of. I really appreciate what the players and Eamon did for how quick I settled in.

“It feels surreal a lot of the time hearing the fans sing my name it’s hard to put it into words, you don’t get much of that back home. You really see loyal British fans over here and it makes you want to play for them and the jersey that much more, it’s pretty exciting and I love it.

“We can really feel that buzz and momentum especially of late, having made some key additions to the playing squad the boys are rallying round each other and there’s a real good feeling and buzz around the club.

“I said when I first got here the club is genuine about going to Super League, I am too. That’s where we want to go and hopefully that’s where we’re heading.”

Bradford boss Eamon O’Carroll said:

“I am really delighted, I think everyone can see just how much he’s immersed himself over here, the exciting thing with Mitch is he’s got so much more to offer the longer he stays, it’s a huge boost for the club,” said O’Carroll, who is sponsored by M & S Combustion Ltd.

“I was really confident he’d settle, he came in at the same time as me so I wasn’t aware what the group was like but I am even more confident now when we bring people in because of the group we have. It didn’t surprise me I could sense in his voice how eager he was, he has surpassed that and been exceptional and he can only get better.

“One thing he mentioned was he wanted to be a part of what we are doing moving forward, he understands where we want to be and we have a fair bit to go but he wants to enjoy that journey and be part of it which is very refreshing.”
