BULLS DOWN HIGH FLYING EAGLES

Bradford Bulls made it back-to-back league wins with an impressive 28-10 success over Sheffield Eagles at Bartercard Odsal Stadium this afternoon.
Despite having 12 first team players unavailable, Eamon O’Carroll’s side got off to the perfect start when Zac Fulton scored his fifth try in seven matches.
Sheffield hit back immediately to level proceedings when a slick move on the left sent former Bull Dawson-Jones over in the corner.
The Bulls were under pressure for periods but produced some outstanding defence to keep the Eagles at bay, and swiftly went on to open up a comprehensive lead.
Jayden Okunbor – who was named man of the match on debut – leapt highest to claim a Jordan Lilley kick to restore Bradford’s lead.
On the following set, Lilley’s kicking game caused problems again, with Aidan McGowan benefitting on this occasion to score in the left corner.
The home side were rampant and scored again before the break, with Fulton grabbing his second of the game with a powerful effort from close range.
The second half saw both sides hold firm in the face of pressure, but Lilley was given the opportunity to extend Bradford’s lead with the boot, and he obliged.
A sin bin apiece swiftly followed as things began to hot up on the field, James Glover making way for the Eagles after a succession of high tackles.
John Davies wasn’t far behind him for the Bulls, following a team warning by referee James Vella.
That didn’t stop the point scoring however, with Kieran Gill – on his 150th career appearance – racing clear from 80 metres having picked up a loose ball.
Mark Aston’s side grabbed a consolation score through Jack Hansen, but it didn’t spoil the party as the Bulls made it five league wins from eight.
