SCHOLARS MATCH REPORT

Bradford Bulls Scholars fell to a narrow 28-16 defeat at the hands of Hull KR Scholars at the Bartercard Odsal Stadium last night.

Twelve minutes into the game, Hull KR went over in the corner after a good offload to open the scoring. The try was then converted, and Hull KR led 0-6.

Midway through the first half the youthful Bulls Scholars decided to run with the ball on the last, a smart pass then found Mckenzi Fozard who raced over to score Bradford Bulls’ first try of the game. Archie Wright then converted the try and the score was all level at 6-6.

Five minutes later, Hull KR came forward again through Cam Brigham and after a quick step inside he forced his way over the line to score for the visitors. The try was however not converted, and Hull KR took a 6-10 lead into the halftime break.

The visitors got the second half underway and ten minutes into the second period they had their third try of the evening after Alex Gorman raced away, Gorman then converted his own try, and the visitors strengthened their lead to 6-16.

The visitors raced through in the corner again to score their second in quick succession with Jimi-Fox Hockney going over for their fourth try of the game. The try was then converted by Rhys Williams to further stretch the visitors lead to 6-22.

Not long after the restart the Bulls Scholars came forward and after some quick hands, Dylan James dived over in the corner. The kick unfortunately was missed but the visitors lead was reduced to 10-22.

In the 62nd minute it was Hull KR’s turn again to race over the line, this time through Louis Barrett, Rhys Williams then had another successful conversion to put the game to bed and give Hull KR a 10-28 lead.

The last action of the game came in the 73^rd minute as Bradford Bulls’ Reuben Flynn went over after some nice work gave him space in the corner.

The try was converted by Archie Wright to see the game finish 16-28 to the visitors.
