RESERVES MATCH REPORT - WIGAN (A)

Bradford Bulls Reserves produced a battling second-half display but fell to a 28-14 against Wigan Warriors on Saturday.

Head coach Glenn Morrison named 4 starlets from our Academy side in his line up – alongside trialist Daniel Moss, who was making his first appearance since suffering an arm injury in pre-season.

The home side got off to the perfect start with back-to-back tries in the opening ten minutes at Robin Park Arena.

Bradford battled back into the contest but with no score to show for their efforts, with Wigan in fact extending their advantage.

Mackenzie Scurr then went close in the right corner before being bundled into touch, with the hosts scoring their fourth try soon after.

Scurr did get over the line before the end of the first half however, showing great strength to wrestle past three Wigan defenders to score.

Smart play from Moss forced a drop out early on in the second half and the Bulls would reduce the arrears further.

An almost identical move to the one that sent Scurr over in the first half, sent Finley Balback over in the right corner.

Moss was in the thick of it again soon after, chasing a superb banana kick from a trialist to collect and dot down under the posts.

Despite Bradford’s resilient effort, Wigan would score in the final minute of the clash to seal a 28-14 win.
