GR-EIGHT DAY IN THE CUP

Bradford Bulls booked a spot in the Betfred Challenge Cup fourth round with a 48-2 victory over North Wales Crusaders at Odsal Stadium this afternoon.

The Crusaders enjoyed plenty of possession in Bradford’s half in the opening quarter and registered the game’s first points via the boot of Owain Abel.

Bradford sparked into life and quickly went ahead – Eribe Doro burst onto a crash ball close to the North Wales line and could not be stopped.

The Bulls enjoyed a prolonged stay in the visitors half and Joe Arundel was on hand to extend Bradford’s advantage.

Just before the interval, Aidan McGowan stepped his way to a second try in as many games – for the Bulls’ third try of the afternoon.

King Keven Appo then stormed over from close range for the first try of the second half.

Lee Gaskell then stepped up with two superb assists – the first, a double pump on the right edge to put Chester Butler through a gap.

Then came the try of the game, a superb move that began in Bradford’s half saw McGowan carve open the Crusaders defence but finding Gaskell – who found Flanagan – on the inside to score.

Jordan Lilley and Kieran Gill then combined for the second time in two games – with the latter pouncing on a neat grubber in behind the visitors defence.

Flanagan then notched his second in typical fashion, wrestling and wriggling his way over from close range to seal the Bulls’ place in the fourth round.
