LAWFORD TO JOIN WAKEFIELD TRINITY

Bradford Bulls can confirm Myles Lawford will leave the club when his current contract expires on 30th November, to join fellow Betfred Championship outfit Wakefield Trinity.

The young half-back made his senior debut against Workington Town in August 2022 and has since made six first team appearances.

The club has been in discussions with Myles and his agent over several months having offered an extended contract on significantly improved terms. The 20-year-old has, however, decided on a move to the Be Well Support Stadium.

Once it became clear, this month, that Myles didn’t wish to extend his contract, and following contact from Wakefield, we entered into discussions with them ensure that the Bulls received the relevant compensation for a homegrown player.

Having done so, the club will now reinvest that money into maintaining and strengthening its’ Elite Academy operation, which costs the club circa £140,000 per season to run, with no funding from the RFL.

We would like to thank Myles for all his efforts in the red, amber and black throughout his time at the club and sincerely wish him all the very best for the future.
