MYERS HELPS BULLS BUCK BRONCOS

Bradford Bulls climbed up to 4th in the Betfred Championship table with a pulsating 12-10 win at play-off rivals London Broncos this afternoon.

The Bulls went into the clash knowing defeat could see them drop out of the top six, with London looking to book their spot in the end of season shootout. 

Bradford were able to welcome back Ben Blackmore, Fenton Rogers, Lee Gaskell and Jayden Myers for the clash - with the latter playing a starring role. 

The Bulls were first to trouble the scoreboard after a period of pressure saw the Broncos caught offside, and the boot of Jordan Lilley kicking the first points of the afternoon. 

London looked to respond immediately but when a pass was dropped, Blackmore was quick to pounce and he fed Myers who raced clear from 65metres to score. 

The visitors saw a couple of tries chalked off in a dominant opening spell, and Mike Eccles’ side would reduce the arrears.

A kick into the corner was grounded by Henry Raiwalui, and with Norman’s kick drifting wide in difficult conditions, Bradford would take a slender lead into the dressing room at half time. 

The second half began in the same vein as the first with the Bulls forcing the issue and their second try would ultimately prove pivotal. 

Myers raced onto a crash ball and his powerful run proved too much for the home defence, with the youngster grabbing his sixth try of the season. 

A penalty then saw Lilley kick Bradford eight points ahead with just over twenty minutes to play. 

The Bulls withstood a Broncos’ barrage until the 68th minute, when Walker and Norman combined nicely for the former to touch down. 

Norman’s conversion reduced the deficit to just two points, but Bradford held firm for a priceless, valuable two points at this stage of the season.
