GREENWOOD PREVIEWS THUNDER TRIP

Lee Greenwood spoke to the media ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Kingston Park to tackle Newcastle Thunder.
The Bulls go into Friday’s clash on the back of a 42-18 win over neighbours Keighley Cougars, which saw Bradford post 34 unanswered points to secure the derby spoils in style.
Newcastle nearly produced a stunning comeback against the high flying Sheffield Eagles before falling to a 38-32 defeat.
Despite a short turnaround, Greenwood believes Chris Thorman’s side will head into the clash with confidence and will pose a threat to his side’s winning run
“It hasn’t been a normal training week where we normally get the three sessions in so you have to be smart with what you know, whilst knowing what you have got to improve on and we feel like we have done that,” said Greenwood, who is sponsored by J & B Coaches.
“We feel we have had three weeks of consistency in training in terms of effort and intensity and on the back of that we feel we played better for longer against Keighley and that is all we are after.
“It is hard to win three games in a row in the Championship as everyone is finding out, sometimes you have to take a win without playing well and I’d take that with the short turnaround on Friday.
“Newcastle played a few hours before us so the short turnaround applies to them, we should have confidence but so should Newcastle having nearly pipped Sheffield late on.
“On the field it is the most competitive Championship I can remember and they are needing a win, they will be looking at this game with a big crowd, wanting to showcase Rugby League in Newcastle on the eve of Magic Weekend and be right up for it.
“I know how much this game will mean to them for lots of reasons, it is going to have a big game feel about it and we need to go up there and upset a few and make sure it’s not our own fans that are upset.”
