BULLS RUN RIOT TO TAME COUGARS

Bradford Bulls ran in 34 unanswered points to seal a stunning 42-18 victory over neighbours Keighley Cougars at the Summer Bash yesterday.
The Cougars got off to a fast start when Ben Crooks score inside the first minute, with Alix Stephenson then pouncing on a loose ball to extend Keighley’s advantage.
But the Bulls then began to turn the screw, Ben Blackmore’s brilliant finish in the corner preceding a familiar Patton to Gill combination in the left corner.
Against the run of play, the Cougars re-established their two score lead when a move between hands on the left edge sent Crooks over for his second try.
Bradford managed to reduce the deficit before the interval, Blackmore turning provider for Jack Walker to score his first of the afternoon.
After the break it was one way traffic, with Bradford’s pressure rewarded with Walker’s second try handed the Bulls their first lead of the afternoon.
Dec Patton and Gill combined again with the latter managing to ground the ball for his second of the afternoon and tenth of the season.
The Bulls were rampant, following a superb Tom Holmes break to halfway, Keven Appo swatted his way past numerous Keighley defenders to dive over in front of the rapturous red, amber and black supporters.
DFJ then got in on the act, when a lovely set play from the base of a scrum saw quick hands on the left edge feed the winger for his third try in his last two matches.
The cherry on the top of the cake came in the form of Ben Blackmore’s second, when Holmes fired a bullet pass out wide to give the winger, who was awarded Our League’s Man of the Match, a stroll in.
