ACADEMY SIDE MAKE IT A SUPER SATURDAY

Our Academy side made it a Super Saturday at Odsal Stadium with a 22-16 victory over Wakefield Trinity.
Defences were firmly on top despite relentless Bradford pressure in the opening quarter, and that pressure eventually told on 27 minutes for the game's first score.
Lewis Hough burst onto a crash ball close to the line and could not be stopped, with George Flanagan Jr adding the extras.
The Young Bulls then went back to back when a cut out ball on the right edge put Connor Sayner over in the corner.
Leigh Beattie's side added to their first half advantage early in the second, when a break down the middle resulted in Flanagan Jr touching down under the posts.
The visitors responded with back to back tries over their own to set up a pulsating final quarter.
Youngster Ethan Newboult was taken off the field on a stretcher as play was halted for a long period, Ethan was discharged later that evening and has been cleared of serious injury.
The home side rallied and Joel Lincoln restored the Bulls' two score advantage, but a brief response from Wakefield reduced the arrears to six.
Bradford held firm to secure the win in their one and only pre-season outing prior to the start of the 2023 Academy season.
