HOLMES EXCITED FOR HOME DEBUT

Bradford Bulls half-back Tom Holmes has spoken of his excitement ahead of a potential Odsal debut this Sunday – insisting he wants to ‘put on a performance’ for our loyal supporters.

The 26-year-old penned a two-year deal to join the Bulls ahead of the eagerly anticipated 2023 season and has impressed in pre-season with his displays against Dewsbury Rams and Leeds Rhinos.

Attention now turns to Round One of the Betfred Championship and the visit of Cumbrian outfit Whitehaven RLFC – with the Bradford Bulls looking to break the record crowd for an opening day fixture in this division.

Castleford-born Holmes admits team morale is really good – and that the side are looking to create their own era and be a part of something special. 

“I am loving it, really enjoying my time here the team morale is really good and that is very important in a part time environment,” said Holmes, who is sponsored by HF Wealth. 

“There is a real good feel about the place and we enjoy each other’s company and hopefully the fans can see that on the field when we are all together celebrating the good things. 

“We just want to take each week as it comes, we have to look after ourselves in-house, it’s us that are out on the field and we want to create our own era for Bradford – that is why I wanted to come here and make a different and be part of something special. 

“[On Sunday’s opener] I am genuinely buzzing, even the away games we have had the crowds we were pulling some teams wouldn’t get so I am looking forward to it. 

“It has been years since I played at Odsal so now I am on the right side of the fans, I am a firm believer in they make a real difference and I want to put on a performance for them!”
