WOMEN DO THE DOUBLE OVER TIGERS

Bradford Bulls Women completed a league double over Castleford Tigers, as they recorded a 48-16 victory at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Sunday afternoon.

Shaun Flynn’s side started fast and broke through the home side’s defence early on as Ebony Haley raced over to touch down, with Hannah Donald crossing soon after to double the advantage.

Castleford hit back momentarily, but it didn’t matter as Hannah Donald raced over again for her seventh try in seven games, the winger in red hot form at the minute.

Emily Heaps, who returned to the starting 13 this afternoon, justified her inclusion as she found herself over the whitewash as the Bradford blew Castleford away in a superb first-half performance.

The home side went over again and reduced the deficit, however, Bailey Alexander couldn’t be stopped and extended the lead once again.

Beth Macmillan, who was starting on the wing also raced over for a try, pushing the score to 28-16 on the stroke of halftime.

After the interval, Cara Cookland scored straight after the restart to give the home side no hope of a second-half comeback.

In quick succession, both Ebony Haley and Beth Macmillan grabbed their second tries of the afternoon to extend the lead further on what was becoming an enjoyable afternoon for the girls.

Before the final hooter, Ebony Haley found space and took advantage of the Castleford defending to score her third of the afternoon, wrapping up a superb hat-trick and another win for her side and Shaun Flynn.
