RESERVES DEFEAT RED DEVILS

Bradford Bulls defeated Salford Red Devils reserves on Sunday afternoon, as many players gained valuable minutes on their return to action from injury.

Bradford started fast, as senior hooker George Flanagan darted over for a quickfire double, in between an acrobatic Jayden Myers try and two Salford efforts.

His son, George Flanagan Jr then found his way over for a score, as Bradford took a commanding lead into the break.

Jayden Myers then grabbed his second, finishing expertly in the corner, before Salford reduced the arrears with a crash over try.

The game was sealed, however as Ryan Millar stole a pass to race away and wrap up the win on his return to competitive action.

Mark Dunning named senior players such as Steve Crossley, Ryan Millar, and George Flanagan in his starting 13, as Millar and Flanagan look to build up match fitness for their return to action.

The former was over for his first try of the game soon after, as in typical fashion he darted through the Salford defence to open the scoring.

Atkin’s kick then caused issues for the Bradford defence, as a try saw them level the affairs.

Winger Myers then took a pass from Flanagan Sr as he scored his first of the afternoon, racing over in the corner.

Salford then hit back again, as they crashed over, but Bradford once again took the lead as Flanagan Sr battled his way through the Salford defence, ending in him scoring.

The family affair was up and running, as his son Flanagan Jr supported a break to extend the lead going into the interval.

After the break, Myers got his second in similar fashion, with Salford once again crashing over after back-to-back penalties saw them camped on the Bradford line.

Millar then used his speed, to pick a stray Salford pass and race away with the ball, touching down in under the posts for a try as Bradford wrapped up the win.
