BULLS GO BACK TO BACK

Bradford Bulls made it back-to-back league wins with a hard fought 26-12 victory over Workington Town yesterday afternoon.

Liam Tindall - the Leeds Rhinos' loanee - broke the deadlock after collecting a loose ball but Marcus O'Brien hit back for the home side.

Aaron Murphy grabbed his second of the season - as did Thomas Doyle - with the Bulls 18-6 to the good at the break.

A fast start to the second half by the visitors saw Kieran Gill dive over from dummy half for his ninth try of the season.

Matty Henson's improvised effort reduced the arrears but a late Dec Patton penalty added the gloss on a good day's work for John Kear and his Bradford Bulls.

Tindall was named alongside fellow Rhinos' loanees Muizz Mustapha and Jarrod O'Connor in the squad - with Steve Crossley also returning following illness.

The home side started well but a huge defensive effort from Matty Dawson-Jones forced an error and Tindall sweeped up the loose ball to race away under the sticks.

Workington were not deterred by that early score and hit back when Jamie Doran dummied his way past the Bradford defence to hand O'Brien a walk in.

Murphy restored Bradford's advantage with half time on the horizon - taking a crash ball from Patton and stretching out to touch down.

The Bulls, buoyed by that score, extended their lead soon after when Mustapha broke through the home defence and found Doyle in support to touch down under the posts.

The second half started in the same vein as the first and it would be a familiar face to take Bradford into a three score lead - Gill spotting an opportunity from dummy half to burrow his way over.

Workington hit back in similar fashion - Henson collecting his own kick forward from the ruck.

But a high shot on Ben Evans led to a penalty and the final scoring act of the afternoon - with Patton 100% from the boot in Cumbria.
