BULLS SUFFER DEFEAT

Bradford Bulls suffered their first defeat of the season to Sheffield Eagles on Sunday afternoon in wet conditions.

Kieran Gill opened the scoring early on, with his third try in two games.

In blustery and wet conditions both sides battled hard, with Liam Johnson levelling the game for Sheffield before the break.

Rhys Evans slid over after the break to put us once again in the lead before another former Bull Vila Halafihi darted over from dummy half.

Patton added what looked a crucial two points but Anthony Thackeray and Ross Oakes both crossed in the remaining minutes to secure the victory.

Head Coach John Kear made two changes to his side after defeating Dewsbury, with Ryan Millar making his debut against his former side.

A familiar combination opened Sheffield up early on, as Patton found Gill early on who crossed.

Bradford tested the Eagles' defence on more occasions but couldn’t find their way through.

As the rain came down, former Bull Liam Johnson slid over from close range to level the scores on the stroke of half time.

After the break, it was Bradford who found the score, with Rhys Evans going over from a Billy Jowitt kick.

However, Halafihi found space to dive over from dummy half to level proceedings once more.

Patton slotted over two to briefly restore the lead, before a double from Oakes and Thackary secured the points.

Farrell added another two on the hooter to seal the win for the visitors.
