BULLS SEE OFF GIANTS

Bradford Bulls Academy capped their final home game of the season in style as they defeated a highly rated Huddersfield Giants Academy 25-22 on Friday evening.
Bradford raced into an early lead, through Lewis Camden who touched down.
Jack Flanagan then took advantage of a dropped ball to score, with the centre scoring to the right of the posts.
On the hooter, Huddersfield got one back on the last play as they burrowed over.
After the interval, the lead changed hands multiple times as the Giants found their way over, but soon after Jack Flanagan grabbed his second to restore the lead.
Giants then scored a quick fire double to take the lead, but Iwan Orr found space to regain the advantage, with Lewis Camden slotting a drop goal to seal the result.
Head of Youth Leigh Beattie welcomed winger Charlie Barrett back into the fold and he impressed defensively early on.
The wing man nullified several Giants attacks, and then kickstarted the move which led to the opening try, as Camden broke through to score.
Jack Flanagan then scored the first of a brace on the night, as a teasing Lawford kick wasn’t dealt with and Flanagan extended Bradford’s lead.
As both teams went set to set, minutes before halftime the visitors found their way over, as a short ball was played down the right and they burrowed their way over.
Huddersfield then quickly levelled up the scores after the break, through a fast move which saw them go underneath the posts.
Jack Flanagan, then took matters into his own hands to restore the advantage, with a carbon copy of his first.
Huddersfield then hit Bradford with a double, to take the lead for the first time on the evening, but it was to be Bradford who would run out winners.
Influential half Iwan Orr came off the bench to find space in the Giants defence and level up the scores, with Lawford handing the lead back with the boot.
In the final moments, Camden showed the maturity of a seasoned professional by slotting one point over which sealed the final game victory for Leigh Beattie’s side.
