BULLS ACADEMY IN LAST GASP FC DEFEAT

Despite an impressive display at the University of Hull, Bradford Bulls Academy fell to a late 26-18 defeat at the hands of Hull FC on Friday evening.

Leigh Beattie's side got off to the best of starts when Sam Arundel broke from inside the Bradford half - throwing a dummy to fool the Hull FC full back to touch down.

A good start turned great soon after, with the home side yet to have an attacking set, Lewis Adams the beneficiary of a flowing move on the right edge.

The hosts started to work their way into proceedings and on eight minutes, Manoa Wacokecoke pounced on a loose ball to reduce the deficit.

Neither side were able to break through stubborn defences until the final minute of the half, when Sam Richards regathered his own chip to finish.

FC raced out of the blocks at the start of the second half and took the lead for the first time when Joel Speed's bullet pass put Lewis Martin in.

Wacokecoke got his second on the hour mark, with Speed picking up another assist for the home side.

Bradford got back to within one score in the 70th minute when a kick caused all sorts of problems on the Hull line, Harry Gray was quickest to react to touch down.

But Bradford's quest for a sensational victory was put to bed on the back of a controversial 40/20 call. The home side got the decision and Ryan Morley collected Junior Mafi's offload to seal the game.
