ACADEMY TRIUMPH IN BRONCOS BATTLE

BRADFORD Bulls Academy side defeated London Broncos 18-10, with a stunning second half showing proving crucial as they ran in two tries to secure the victory.

The visitors were first to trouble the scoring ledger through Bill Leyland, despite early Bradford pressure.

London then doubled their advantage after a rare attack saw them cross the Bradford whitewash, Dan Hoyes the man to score.

Before the break, an eye catching try from Joe Burton saw Bradford reduce the scores going into the second half.

After the interval, a much improved second half saw two tries within the first fifteen minutes, with Iwan Orr and Taylor Mail both crossing.

These scores, with Lewis Camden converting paved the way for a superb win for Leigh Beattie’s men against London Broncos.

Leigh Beattie reshuffled his pack and welcomed back several players who had been missing due to injury.

The young Bulls started brightly, but couldn’t stop Leyland diving over from close range, after a penalty allowed London to move into Bradford’s half.

More pressure followed from the home side, but handling errors halted their progress on the London line.

Burton then took matters into his own hands, as he broke the London line and darted past the visiting full-back to slide over underneath the posts on the stroke of half time.

With London still leading in the second period of the game, several offloads allowed Orr to race through and score his first try in Bradford colours.

Mail then crashed over from close range after several sets on the London line, securing the victory for Bradford.

London had a large amount of pressure of their own with minutes remaining, but Bradford stood firm and repelled four successive sets on their own line, which saw them over the line.
