SEVEN HEAVEN FOR THE BULLS

BRADFORD Bulls made it seven wins on the bounce as they recorded a 31-12 victory over Newcastle Thunder this afternoon.

Bradford started fast and went ahead through Jordan Lilley, taking three defenders over the line to score.

The away side hit back, however in a half where only two tries were scored, and proceedings turned scrappy.

After the break, the home side turned on the style, Ellis Robson and Anthony Walker scoring back-to-back within minutes.

Kieran Gill, then burrowed over to reduce the arrears, but it wasn’t to matter as tries from Steve Crossley and Thomas Doyle secured the victory.

John Kear’s side came into this game on the back of a six-match winning run and were looking to add Newcastle to that number.

Lilley found space early on to twist over and hand Bradford the advantage, after a high hanging kick caused confusion.

An error then allowed Dean to touch down underneath the posts, levelling the scores up.

That was all she wrote in the first half, which was dominated by errors and penalties.

After the break, a fast start from the Bulls saw them post back-to-back tries, first through Robson after a break from Doyle.

The second, was more brute force as Walker crashed over from close range, pushing the Bulls further out in front.

Newcastle narrowed the scores, through Gill after a crash ball saw him burrow over.

Danny Brough then slotted a one-pointer to take the game away from the visitors before two quickfire tries late on.

Captain Crossley pounced on a loose ball for his third try of the season with the hosts growing in confidence as the contest wear on.

There was time for one last try, with Newcastle tiring, Doyle spotted a gap to dive over and score with Bradford recording their seventh win in a row.
