ASTON BACKING BULLS FOR PROMOTION

05 May 2015

SHEFFIELD Eagles head coach Mark Aston believes the Bulls are on course to achieve promotion this season.

Speaking following Sunday’s game between Bradford and Sheffield, which saw James Lowes’ men romp to a 46-12 success, the Eagles chief paid credit to the Provident Stadium outfit’s progress.

He commented on the Bulls’ recent upturn in form, insisting it will be Lowes’ men on top come the end of the 2015 Kingstone Press Championship campaign.

“I think Bradford played the best they have all season today (Sunday),” said Aston, shortly after the full-time hooter – in his post-match press conference.

“It would certainly be very close between Bradford and Leigh, because Leigh are starting to crack.

“Bradford are going this way and Leigh another. At the moment, Leigh are probably a tad in front of them.

“But, by the end of the season, who will get promoted? I think you would probably put your house on it being Bradford.”

“It is interesting because Bradford are hitting form at the right time.

“Lee Gaskell is the best half-back in the competition, without a shadow of a doubt.

“It is credit (to Bradford) that he is still here and that they have kept him.

“There are some great players here and some good young kids. It is only a matter of time before it all clicks.”

Lowes’ Bulls return to Kingstone Press Championship action this Sunday, taking on Whitehaven at the Recreation Ground.

Tickets for the round-twelve contest are still available and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE.

LOWES SPEAKS OF DELIGHT AFTER 'BEST PERFORMANCE YET'

04 May 2015

JAMES Lowes has heaped praise on his Bradford Bulls after watching the Provident Stadium men produce their “best performance of season” yesterday, defeating fellow promotion rivals Sheffield Eagles with ease.

The Bulls boss saw his side storm into an unanswered interval lead, before putting the game to bed following the restart.

Dale Ferguson was named man of the match but was one of a handful Bradford stars who turned on the style over the weekend, the home side romping to a 46-12 success.

“I was very pleased with how we played, I thought we were pretty good,” said Lowes, who is sponsored in memory of Joyce Dobby.

“It was the best 80-minute performance of the season so far, without a doubt.

“You could go through the side, from one to 17, I thought we were far better than them.

“It has taken a while for us to get up to speed but we are certainly getting there.”

Meanwhile, officials have this morning confirmed the rescheduling of the Bulls' Kingstone Press Championship clash with Featherstone Rovers.

Originally due to take place on Sunday May 17, the contest will now get underway from 8.00pm on Wednesday July 1.

This change comes due to the Rovers partaking in Ladbrokes Challenge Cup sixth-round action that weekend.

Tickets are now back on sale and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE, allowing you to make savings on gameday admission prices.

FERGUSON STARS AS BULLS SINK SHEFFIELD

03 May 2015

MAN of the match Dale Ferguson bagged a brace of tries as Bradford Bulls stormed to an emphatic victory over Sheffield Eagles, moving them four points clear of their third-placed opponents.

The Scotland star bagged tries either side of the break and played a key role, James Lowes’ men producing arguably their best performance of the season to ease past Sheffield.

Bradford were 22-unaswered points to the good by half-time and did not look back.

The visitors responded late on, avoiding what looked set to be a nilling, but their efforts counted for little more than consolation.
