Full Time Report

INJURIES proved costly as Bradford Bulls fell to a 16-0 defeat at the hands of Hull Kingston Rovers this afternoon.

Skipper Matt Diskin was helped from the field nine minutes in and was followed, shortly after, by front-rower Adam Sidlow.

The pair were deemed unable to return to action and the hosting Rovers made the most of their absence, galloping into a two-try lead inside the opening quarter.

Craig Sandercock’s side were 12-unanswered points to the good by half-time, despite the Bulls’ best efforts.

And they moved further ahead following the restart, sealing their first two points of the 2014 campaign.

Bradford began brightly, dominating the opening exchanges.

But the Rovers hit the front through Omari Caro, just seconds after Diskin limped towards the away dugout.

Travis Burns added the extras and then performed a neat one-two – on 18 minutes – to send half-back partner Kris Keating racing away to score beneath the uprights.

Burns again improved but this time from bang in front.

Francis Cummins’ men gave everything in a bid to reduce the arrears, with Adam O’Brien

going close on the half-hour.

But Hull KR held firm to maintain their advantage.

And a try after the break, just past the hour mark, sealed the Bulls’ fate as back-rower Kevin Larroyer pounced on a Burns grubber.

Bradford defended their line admirably during the closing minutes, though their tireless efforts went unrewarded on the scoresheet.
