ADAM HENRY bagged two tries as Bradford Bulls fell to a 66-18 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Giants this afternoon.
The Provident Stadium side were 26 points adrift at the interval, despite making an impressive start to proceedings, responding admirably to a first-minute Huddersfield try.
Bradford, hampered by injuries, battled bravely but succumbed to a hefty defeat on home soil.
An error from the kick-off allowed the Giants a huge opportunity during the opening minute and Paul Anderson's men grasped it with both hands, as Scott Grix powered over from close range.
However, a knock-on at the other end – from the resulting restart – allowed the hosts back into contention.
And, following back-to-back sets, the Bulls hit back through New Zealander Adam Henry, who reached out to score. Jamie Foster added the extras, making it 6-4.
But Bradford's lead was soon overturned, the visiting Giants racing over for a flurry of tries – in quick succession – courtesy of former Bull Joe Wardle, Michael Lawrence and Luke Robinson.
Moments prior to Robinson's effort, Grix had added a second try to his Huddersfield tally.
And the Giants crossed again, on the stroke of half-time, through back-rower Jason Chan despite calls for a knock-on.
Danny Brough landed four conversions from six attempts, providing the away side with a comfortable 26-point cushion going into the break.
Francis Cummins' men responded superbly after the break, though, forcing an error before reducing the arrears as Henry grabbed his second of the afternoon.
Foster was again on target with the kick, reducing the gap to 20 points.
But the Bulls proved unable to kick on, Huddersfield responding almost immediately via an Ukuma Ta'ai touchdown.
A second Wardle try saw the Giants beyond 40 points and the visitors added to their tally through Jermaine McGillvary on the hour mark.
Adam O'Brien hit back for the Bulls, surprising Huddersfield from a quick-tap penalty, and Foster improved the young hooker's effort to maintain his 100 per-cent record with the boot.
But hopes of a late fightback were soon dashed when front-rower Ta'ai scored his second of the game – 12 minutes from time.
Brett Ferres, another former Bull, pounced on a loose ball to increase Huddersfield's lead and their tally was complete as McGillvary crossed in the corner to double his personal tally.
