Dalton Grant insists North Wales Crusaders will have a point to prove on Sunday having ran York City Knights close last week – hailing them as a ‘big club’.

The Welsh winger arrives back in his homeland with his Bradford Bulls team-mates closing in on an immediate return to the Betfred Championship with just six games remaining.

Grant, who has featured in 21 games this season, knows all to well the challenge John Kear’s men will face on Sunday having played at the Queensway Stadium with Wales.

The 28-year-old has called for the same mentality from his team-mates as the games come thick and fast, targeting glory following a torrid two years with injury.

“Crusaders are a big club, full of good players and they will be a strong team who will not make it easy for us,” said Grant, who is sponsored by 39 Steps Consulting.

“They gave York a huge scare last week but did not come away with anything for their efforts so will come straight out of the blocks to prove themselves on Sunday.

“It will be a tough game for us no doubt about it but we have just got to take the same mentality into the game as we have all season.

“We have to turn up, if we don’t we wont be bringing the points home and Crusaders are more than capable of capitalising on any mistakes.

“We have six games left and we just need to take one game at a time, ticking each one off as we go.

“I think we are the best team in this league, I feel as though I am finally getting back to my best so everything is coming together – getting promoted would be the icing on the cake.”
