Bradford Bulls Women will travel to Wakefield on Sunday as they look to book their place in the Challenge Shield Grand Final.

With the final taking place at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium, undefeated Championship outfit Wakefield Trinity are all that stands between the Bulls and a shot at silverware for the second consecutive season.

Wakefield trounced Hull FC 30-0 in the previous round, while Bradford progressed after their scheduled opponents Widnes Vikings withdrew from the competition.

Head coach Mark Prescott said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to win some silverware.

“We are in a semi-final and those can be difficult games. We will prepare as we would for any other game, but the girls are certainly looking forward to it, it’s a nice break from the Super League.

“We played and won two finals last year, so those that are still here know what it’s all about.

“Hats off to the RFL who have taken it to another level this year by hosting the final at a Super League ground.”

Prescott is likely to make some changes to the line-up after a tough run of Super League games, but he insists they will not underestimate Wakefield.

“We will definitely be rotating the team and using the whole squad. Wakefield are not to be taken lightly though and we will pick a team that reflects the respect they deserve.”

One player who believes she is ready to step up to the starting 13 is Memphis Jubb, who has impressed off the bench on multiple occasions this season.

She said: “Personally I think I deserve a full start. I have shown full commitment to the team and shown I can put in the hits and runs to play alongside the more experienced women.

“Getting another win under our belt will give us a little more confidence after some tough defeats. It may allow us to push on to where we need to be by the end of the season, in the top four.”
