The Head Coach, sponsored by Bradford Bulls Banter, who is entering his first year at the helm, will use the contest to finalise his first-team plans, with a number of places still up for grabs.
A number of Bradford-born players will feature, including Ross Peltier, who enjoyed three years at Cougar Park, prior to becoming a Bull.
With the York City Knights clash on the horizon, Wales head coach Kear is under no illusions as to how tough life in Betfred League One will be, but wants his side to lay down a marker, starting today.
“It has been a long but enjoyable pre-season but there are still things to learn,” said Kear.
“We will have things to learn from the last time out too, we have questions to answer about ourselves.
“There will be a target on our head throughout this year and Keighley, like York the week after will come right at us.
“It will be a good test, there are still places up for grabs and we will be testing a few combinations to give us food for thought heading into the trip to York.
“We want to nail our performance today, claim local bragging rights and only when that is done will we turn our focus to York City Knights.
“It will be a tremendous occasion, we are waiting in great anticipation and are looking to put in a performance we can take into the game next Sunday.”
