BRADFORD WOMEN RECOGNISED BY LORD MAYOR
Last night the Bradford Bulls Women’s team were welcomed by the Lord Mayor of Bradford City following their remarkable season, for a Civic Reception to honour their achievements.
The Women’s side, sponsored by Provident, rounded off the perfect year after their 36-6 Grand Final victory over Featherstone Rovers, as they went undefeated for the season.
Following their triumph, Lord Mayor Councillor Abid Hussain and Lady Mayoress, Mrs Shahnaz Akhtar invited the Women’s side to the Bradford City Hall to celebrate their success.
“Bradford has a long and proud tradition in rugby league. It is therefore fitting that the fantastic Bradford Bulls Ladies team have become the winners of the first ever Women’s Super League Grand Final, writing a new chapter in our district’s sporting history,”, said Councillor Abid Hussain.
“I hope their achievements will inspire others to take up this great sport.”
Co-Owner Andrew Chalmers attending the event alongside the team: “They have been outstanding this year. How they conduct themselves both on and off the field is remarkable.
“Going through the season unbeaten is one thing, but to win both the Super League Grand Final as well as the Challenge Cup is on another level of greatness.
“Everyone in Bradford is extremely proud of what they have achieved this year, they have done our great city proud.”
Join the celebrations this Saturday as we host a recognition dinner at the SouthBank Stand, with club legend Leon Pryce hosting the evening, in favour of the Women's mighty achievements.
