BULLS WOMEN FALL TO LATE DEFEAT

BRADFORD Bulls Women fell to a late 28-20 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Giants yesterday afternoon.

The visitors took the lead early on through Amelia Brown, before Bradford hit back through Stacey Greenwood and Sarah Dunn, to hand the women the lead. 

Huddersfield, however scored a breakaway try though Izzy Northrop to regain the lead, but then would see themselves going into the break behind after an eye-catching Grace Ramsden try. 

After the break, Dunn grabbed her second, but that was to be the last Bradford try of the game. 

Huddersfield then scored three tries in ten minutes to take the lead and then made sure of the win, through Reagan Walker who crashed over on the hooter. 

Mark Seal’s side came into this game on the back of two defeats and were looking to put in an impressive performance against a new-look Huddersfield Giants side. 

Bradford started off brightly but found themselves behind after a mazy 60 metre effort from Brown handed Huddersfield an early lead. 

Two quick tries from the Women’s side, through Greenwood and Dunn, then handed them the advantage. 

The lead didn’t last long however, as a tiring Bradford defence let the visitors in to regain the lead, through Northrop, finishing off a break down the middle. 

Captain Ramsden, then took matters into her own hands by kicking the ball in behind and regathering to score to send the women into the break leading. 

Dunn scored her second of the game after the break in typical fashion, crashing over under the posts to give Mark Seal’s side an eight-point advantage. 

Huddersfield, however, came roaring back with three tries of their own within 15 minutes to take the lead. 

With Huddersfield leading by four and the game coming to a close, Reagan Walker barged her way over to condemn Bradford to defeat in what was a tight encounter.
