KEAR CALLS FOR CONSISTENCY AFTER CRUSADERS WIN
John Kear has spoken of his delight at his side’s defensive solidity - but is keen to ensure the players maintain their concentration for the full 80 minutes.
Playing at Odsal Stadium for the first time in four weeks and for the first time in a competitive fixture for thirteen days, the home side raced out of the blocks and saw themselves establish a 28-0 lead at the interval.
An underwhelming second-half display saw the visitors register two scores of their own sandwiched in between four Bradford Bulls tries as Kear’s outfit ran out 50-12 victors.
Head Coach Kear has praised his side’s defensive solidity but is determined to avoid further lapses in concentration in weeks to come.
“If you would have offered me a 38-point victory over North Wales Crusaders prior I would have taken that!”, said Kear, who is sponsored by Bradford Bulls Banter.
“The first half we played ourselves into a fantastic position and then went on to establish a 40-0 lead.
“At that point, we were in an outstanding position but lapses in concentration let them back in it.
“That was the only disappointing thing and we need to address that moving forward but it was a performance full of positives.
“Matt Garside was excellent, Joe Keyes fared well on his return and Ross Peltier was incredibly focused and did not make an error.
“Defensively I was very pleased for 65 minutes of the game but we know where we need to improve, but it was a very valuable two points.”
