Ethan Ryan has spoken of his delight at Saturday’s quadruplet of tries - but believes further improvement is needed to sustain his side’s title challenge this season.

The fledgeling winger celebrated his 22nd birthday in style with four tries in Saturday’s 54-16 drubbing of London Skolars to take his tally to 12 for the season.

John Kear’s men ran in 11 tries as they maintained their 100% record at Odsal Stadium in 2018.

Ryan has spoken of the squad's disappointment with the performance and insists on sticking to the game plan will reap its rewards.

“It was very special to score four tries on my birthday and it was great to help the boys get the win,” said Ryan who is sponsored by

“It is another very good result and I am pleased with my performance but as a team we know we need to fix things up.

“I enjoy scoring tries it is what I like to do but the team comes first and although we won we are not happy.

“We have set a very high standard of ourselves and we need to reach that level on Friday.

“We have our systems and we went away from them at times and the second half especially was scrappy.

“It is just about that extra 1% to get an 80-minute performance which is what we will need to beat times like Newcastle.

“If we right the wrongs from Saturday we will be clinical and on a fast track we will see the benefit.”
