David was handicapped last season with a knee injury picked up in a pre season game. That meant he missed the first eight weeks of the season and he took a while to get match fit. Blessed with tremendous ball handling skills he also has the ability to score tries himself and he scored 5 tries last season. Strong and skilful he is undoubtedly the Ace in the Bulls pack when it comes to creating tries. He represented his native Samoa at last year’s World Cup.

David Solomona was born in Auckland, New Zealand and started his career in Australia with Sydney Roosters, with whom he made 22 appearances before moving to the Parramatta Eels.  At Parramatta between 2001 and 2003, David made 57 appearances before he switched continents and joined Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.  He proved a tremendous acquisition for the Wildcats and he almost single handedly kept them in Super League as they fought for their survival at the end of 2006.  The Wildcats came to the Grattan Stadium needing a win to stay in Super League in the penultimate round of the season. David Solomona was responsible for orchestrating a tremendous display by Wakefield and his two tries, despite suffering a torn bicep, ensured they survived until the last game, where their victory over Castleford kept them in Super League at the Tigers expense.

He signed for the Bulls in October 2006 and was ever present for the club in his first season, making 32 appearances. He is blessed with tremendous ball handling skills and he also has the ability to score tries himself, most notably from close range and he scored 14 tries in 2007, including a hat trick.

He was injured in Paul Deacon's Testimonial game and the Medial Ligament damage he sustained kept in on the sidelines for eight weeks, with his first appearance coming in Round 6 against Warrington.

David has played thirteen times for New Zealand and he was a member of Brian McLennan's side that defeated Australia at Elland Road in the Tri Nations Series in 2005.  He has also played six times for Samoa, whom he represented at the 2008 World Cup in Australia.

Bulls Career details to end of 2008 season:
