Squad No: 13

DOB: 21/12/1983

Height: 6ft 2in

Weight: 100kg

Position: Loose Forward

Jamie is a powerful loose forward who signed from the Normanton Knights and is one of the most highly rated forwards in the game. In 2002 he was skipper of the England Academy team that defeated the Australian Schoolboys, the first time a British side had won a Test Series against Australia in 30 years!  He is recognised as the first choice Loose Forward at the club but his versatility saw him play both Back Row and Prop last season. Despite injuring his shoulder - which eventually necessitated in an operation at the end of the year - Jamie played in all but two of the Bulls 28 games.  He is now embarking in a well deserved testimonial season after joining the Bulls in 1999.

Jamie joined the Bulls in 1999 from Normanton Knights ARLFC. His father John was a member of the famous Leeds side of the late 1960's and early 1970's, winning virtually every honour in the game.  Jamie made his debut in  2002 at Wakefield over the next few years established himself in the first team. In 2005 he made 28 appearances and was a member of the Bulls side that took the Grand Final against Leeds.

In 2006 he played in 30 games for the club and he was awarded three club awards at the Club's Player of the Year Awards night for his performances throughout the season; these included; The Peter Lovett Trophy for Top Tackler and the Telegraph and Argus Best Average Award, with 7.39. He also got Head Coach Steve McNamara's vote as Prized Bull. Jamie signed a new 3 year contract in April 2007 to keep him at the Bulls until the end of 2010.  Last season, despite carrying a shoulder injury, he played 28 games for the Bulls and had a very consistent season.

Jamie also captained the England Academy team that defeated the Australian schoolboys side for the first time in thirty years.  The team included Gareth Hock, Chris Bridge and Jon Wilkin and it wasn't long before Senior International honours came his way.  In 2004 he made three appearances for England in the European Championships and in June 2007 Langley was called up to the Great Britain squad for the Test match against France.  He played England team that played against Wales prior to the World Cup. He was named in the England training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup and in October 2008 he was named in the final 24-man England squad. An injury sustained against Hull KR in the first game of the season, meant an operation at the end of the year kept him out of contention for the Four Nations Tournament.
