Chev was chased by the club as a schoolboy but opted to sign for him home town club, Leeds Rhinos, for whom he made his debut as a 16 year old in 1999.  He stayed at Headingley until 2006, representing England in the 200 World Cup and making Gt. Britain debut in 2004.

He left Leeds and switched to Rugby Union with Bath but he failed to settle in the West Country and joined Hull KR in September 2007.  He badly broke his leg in a Play off game, ironically at Headingley in 2009 but recovered to join the Bulls for last season. Again his year was disrupted by injuries and he will be hoping for an injury free year in 2012
