LOWES EXCITED FOR SEASON OPENER

05 Feb 2016

TOMORROW sees Bradford Bulls get their 2016 Kingstone Press Championship underway with a home tie against Featherstone Rovers.

The Bulls, unlike last season, start the year at the Provident Stadium as they welcome Featherstone to Odsal.

It has been another long off-season and Head Coach, James Lowes, who is sponsored by In Memory of Joyce Dobby, cannot wait for the season to kick off.

“I’m very excited and can’t wait for tomorrow to finally get the season underway.

“Featherstone are a good side and will give us a good test.

“They’ve changed their squad by bringing in a few players and letting a few go. They also have a new Head Coach, who has had a full pre-season with them.

“Sunday will be a competitive encounter which we’re very much looking forward to.

“It would be nice to get off to a winning start with a good performance, but if we win or lose tomorrow the result won’t define our season.”

You can still buy tickets ahead of Sunday’s clash by visiting the Team Shop today, open until 5pm.

PURTELL LOOKING TO BUILD MOMENTUM

05 Feb 2016

SUNDAY afternoon will see Adrian Purtell lead out Bradford Bulls for the first time as the 2016 captain.

The Australian, who is sponsored by Brian Widdop, was given the captaincy after Chev Walker’s retirement at the end of last season.

The Bulls kick off their 2016 campaign at home to Featherstone Rovers and Purtell is eagerly looking forward to running out onto the pitch.

“I’m excited about the season finally coming back around, as it’s been a long wait.

“It’s great that we kick off the season at home this year and leading the boys out will be a special moment.

“I'm looking forward to leading this team back to the top.

“You always want to start your season with a win, no matter if you’re home or away, you want to start with a win, which will help you build momentum during the season.

“It’ll be brilliant to hear the fans again because they are outstanding. Their support gives us an extra lift when we run out onto the pitch.

“Throughout last season they showed off their passion and support, which they bring to each and every game.

“Jimmy has put us through all of our paces, so we are ready to go and we feel very prepared – I can’t wait to get going on Sunday.”

You can still buy tickets ahead of Sunday’s clash by visiting the Team Shop tomorrow, open 9am to 5pm.
