BRADFORD BULLS Under-19s fell to a 38-12 defeat at the hands of Hull Kingston Rovers in the curtain raiser to the First:Utility Super League clash between the two sides.
The visitors dominated the opening period, in which they scored five tries through Matty Marsh, Alex Gilbey, Macca Duke, Josh Gudzek and Macca Hallett.
Forward Joe Buggle bagged the Bulls' solitary score, leaving them 22 points adrift by half-time.
Marsh crossed for his second try of the evening mid-way through the second half, before Bradford's Jake Hrintchuck dived over in the corner to reduce the deficit.
But Jack Stewart gave the scoreline a more one-sided look when he went over during the dying minutes.
The visitors forced a drop-out with the first kick of the ball and made their early pressure count when Marsh pounced on a loose ball to strike first blood for the visitors.
Richard Tunningley’s men improved and Buggle was the beneficiary of some sterling work by Adam Brook, levelling matters.
However, tries courtesy of Gilbey, Duke, Gudzek and Hallett gave the away side a comfortable advantage.
Marsh latched onto his own kick to increase the visitors’ lead, just prior to Hrintchuck's response.
The final act of the tie saw Stewart snatch a loose ball to seal a convincing victory for the Rovers.
