JAMES LOWES believes his side's defensive resilience laid the platform for a “ruthless” attacking performance during yesterday's seven-try beating of Featherstone Rovers.

Lee Gaskell, Adrian Purtell and Chris Ulugia bagged first-half tries as the visitors raced into an unanswered 18-point lead.

Adam O'Brien and Jean Philippe-Baile crossed soon after the interval, before Gaskell and Ulugia both registered their second scores to seal a second-successive victory for the Bulls.

Last-gasp efforts from Etu Uaisele and Gaskell, once more, were ruled out by referee Matt Thomason, in an encounter which saw new signing Epalahame Lauaki enjoy his first run out in Bradford colours.

“I was pretty pleased with the performance,” said Lowes, who is proudly sponsored in memory of Joyce Dobby.

“We made a lot of errors early on but on the back of that we defended very well.

“That was an area we had focused on in the days leading up to the game and the lads got stuck in. It was the most pleasing aspect for me.

“We felt going in at half-time we had enough in us to trouble Featherstone and deal with what they would throw at us in the second forty.

“Featherstone is a difficult place to go, it always has been and if you don't turn up with the right attitude you will get punished.

“But I put some pressure on the boys and they were ruthless. We took our chances and got the reward we deserved.”

Lowes' men return to Kingstone Press Championship action this Sunday, when Barry Eaton's Hunslet Hawks visit the Provident Stadium, Odsal.

Tickets for the game are now on sale and, if you buy before 5.00pm on Saturday, you will be able to save £2 on admission prices.

LEE GASKELL was again the orchestrator as Bradford Bulls recorded a second-straight victory, brushing aside Featherstone Rovers in a seven-try demolition at the Big Fellas Stadium.

The stand-off provided another scintillating performance, being cruelly denied a second hat-trick in as many weeks in an all but one-sided affair.

Having weathered an early Rovers storm, James Lowes' men found themselves three unanswered tries to the good by half-time.

And they refused to lie down after the break, adding to their tally in some style in front of a bumper 6,346 crowd.

The Bulls cut loose during the opening stages of the second period to end Featherstone's hopes of producing a comeback.
