STEVE Crossley returned to Bradford Bulls action over the weekend – as James Lowes’ men overcame Halifax for the second time in as many months – but the front-rower admits he is being “kept on his toes”.

The former Castleford Tigers talent came through Saturday’s Summer Bash unscathed having overcome a hamstring injury.

However, with more than half-a-dozen props available to James Lowes, the 24-year-old says he is facing tough competition to keep his spot in the Bradford boss’ first-choice 17.

“It was great to be back out there over the weekend, after picking up a frustrating hamstring injury in my first game at Doncaster,” said Crossley, who is sponsored by The Top House.

“But the pressure is most certainly on for me, given the amount of options Jimmy (Lowes) has up front.

“If anyone doesn’t perform then they know they could find themselves out of the team.

“But it is great in terms of continuing to raise standards and keeping intensity high because we are being kept on our toes.

“I am pretty happy with my progress but there is certainly much more to come from me.

“As the weeks go on, I hope to find my best form and really make an impact during the closing stages of the season and, of course, the Super Eights.”

The Bulls return to Kingstone Press Championship action on Sunday, taking on former Super League rivals London Broncos at The Hive.

You can secure tickets for the round-fifteen contest by CLICKING HERE or calling a member of our ticketing team – on 08448 711 490 – during normal office hours.

OVER 15,000 fans flocked to Blackpool for the first-ever Summer Bash over the weekend, enjoying two days of spectacular Kingstone Press Championship action at Bloomfield Road.

More than a third of those who turned out for day one were Bulls supporters, with almost 3,000 Bradford fans making the trip.

And their presence made for an incredible atmosphere by the seaside, as James Lowes’ men extended their unbeaten run by seeing off local rivals Halifax.

Nigel Wood, the chief executive of the Rugby Football League (RFL), said: “Summer Bash has been an event that the whole sport should feel proud of, it has been a fantastic weekend showcasing the Kingstone Press Championship and League 1.

“I would like to thank the fans who turned out in their thousands to create a carnival atmosphere both inside and outside the stadium, they have really embraced the new concept and helped make the event a great success.

“For the fans who couldn’t make it to Bloomfield Road they were able to enjoy the high quality drama on the field by watching the great coverage Sky Sports provided over the weekend."

The RFL says a full evaluation of Summer Bash will now take place with all stakeholders.

Enjoy more of the same this coming weekend and join the Bulls as they venture south to battle London Broncos at The Hive.
