JAMAL FAKIR is relishing the prospect of fifth-round Tetley's Challenge Cup action against his former club.

Bradford Bulls welcome Catalan Dragons, the French international's past employers, to The Provident Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 3.00pm).

And the Moroccan-born front-rower, who switched the South of France for West Yorkshire earlier this month, insists he and his fellow Bulls are determined to bounce back – with a quarter-final spot up for grabs.

“We need to beat Catalan and are determined to achieve our objection this weekend,” said the 31-year-old forward.

“I have a lot of history with the Dragons, as I played there for more than 10 years – my whole career.

“My sole focus is now on the Bulls, though, and I am delighted to be here.

“There are improvements to be made and we need to perform better – for the full 80 minutes – but we are capable of getting through to the next round.”

Fakir made his Bradford debut on Sunday April 6, when Francis Cummins dispatched lower-ranked Oldham to make it through to the last-sixteen stage of the competition.

He has since made three appearances in the First Utility Super League for the club and has spoken of his desire to recapture his best form as a Bull.

“I feel as though I have fit in quite quickly here and I am pleased to have been granted an opportunity to prove myself,” added Fakir.

“I am desperate to get back to my best, as I did not feel I was getting enough game-time with the Dragons.

“Full match fitness is coming, as I have been getting 30 to 40 minutes in games here, and I am feeling better with every week.

“I am working very hard and hope to make a big impact this weekend, when the Dragons come to town.”

Tickets for the contest are still available, priced at £15 (adults), £10 (concessions) and £5 (juniors).

But supporters have until 2.00pm on Saturday to BOOK and SAVE, with admission due to rise by £5 on the day of the game.
