LEE GASKELL is hoping to make his Bradford Bulls comeback on Friday evening against former club Salford Red Devils (kick-off 8.00pm).
Proudly sponsored by Hudson Foster, the 23-year-old, who arrived during the closed season, suffered a knee injury during Bradford’s victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats back in February.
However, having spent the best part of six weeks on the sidelines, the former St Helens star is confident he of making a return – ahead of schedule.
“I really pushed on with my rehabilitation last week, doing a lot of agility and speed, and it went very well,” said Gaskell, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Friday’s opponents last year.
“Hopefully I can push on again, over the coming days, and we can kick on with a win on Friday.
“I would love to get back out there, as my recovery has gone extremely well and I am itching to play.
“I have played only a handful of games and felt as though I was beginning to settle in, before being struck down by injury.
“But I have not let it affect me, I have trained hard and feel like I am in shape.
“I am certainly raring to go, so hopefully I will get the nod for Friday very soon.”
Head coach Francis Cummins will tomorrow name his 19-man squad for the visit of Dr Marwan Koukash’s Red Devils.
And there is still time for you to secure tickets for the clash, with terrace admission priced at £20 (adults), £15 (concessions) and £10 (juniors).
