FRANCIS CUMMINS has spoken of his delight following yesterday’s successful takeover of the club.

The Bradford Bulls chief, along with his players and backroom staff, were met by the news on Wednesday morning.

And Cummins says the announcement, which saw local businessman Marc Green become the Bulls’ new owner and chairman, will enable his side to focus on all things rugby.

“I am extremely happy about yesterday’s announcement, it provides us with some much-needed stability,” said the Bradford head coach.

“We can now fully concentrate on what we are meant to do. There are no distractions anywhere.

“I met with Marc on Tuesday evening and he talked about how he goes about his business and approaches things.

“He is a straight talker, which is obviously a good thing. It is how we go about things on the training ground, saying what you mean and getting straight to the point.

The Bulls travel to the Select Security Stadium on Sunday to battle fourth-placed Widnes Vikings, who have enjoyed a strong start to the season.

However, boss Cummins is confident his side will show necessary improvements next time out.

“They have kicked off well and are in good form,” he added.

“But we are after our next win and know we need to put a few things right from the weekend.

“The boys are showing a lot of unity and desire, and are working really hard.

“We have got to stick with what we are doing, as we are getting there.

“And I do believe that this week’s good news will provide the boys with a major boost.”
