HEAD coach James Lowes is feeling optimistic ahead of tomorrow’s Million Pound Game – which will see his Bradford Bulls tackle Wakefield Trinity Wildcats for a place in First Utility Super League for 2016.

A memorable victory over Leigh Centurions in the penultimate round of the Super 8s The Qualifiers guaranteed Bradford’s place in the inaugural, all or nothing Million Pound Game.

And Lowes has his strongest team available to him for the first time this season, ahead of the biggest game in the club’s recent history.

“It is a big game and we are looking forward to it,” said Lowes, who is sponsored in memory of Joyce Dobby.

“We are going to bring a big section of the crowd and it feels like a final.

“The mood in the camp is good and the players are in high spirits. They have been all week.”

Lowes, who took over the coaching reins last year following a stint in rugby union with Leeds Carnegie, appeared in a number of finals during his playing days as a Bull.

He knows exactly what it takes to get the job done on the biggest stage – even as an underdog.

That is what the Bulls will be on Saturday, with the brand-new Super 8s format pitting Lowes’ men against an established Super League side, at the Belle Vue Stadium.

“In one off games, anything can happen,” added the England assistant coach.

“There is a less nervy way to go up and I would have liked to have gone up as one of the top three.

“But a great performance against Leigh put us in a position where can have a go at going up in this Million Pound Game.

“It is going to be all about how we control our mentality in the game.”

PLEASE NOTE: A limited number of tickets will be available from the Wildcats' ticket office prior to kick-off, with the game heading for a sell-out!
