25th March 2014

SUNDAY’S trip to Widnes Vikings will see front-rower Anthony Mullally break new ground.

The Ireland international, who agreed a season-long loan deal with the Bulls last week, made his Super League debut with the Vikings – back in 2009.

But the 22-year-old front-rower has never before faced his hometown club in a competitive game.

“I am really looking forward to the coming weekend,” he said.

“I have not yet played against my old club, so it adds something extra for me to what is an already important game.

“Widnes have been in great form and have started the season well, so we will have to be at our best if we want to stop their run of form.”

Mullally has made an impressive start to life at The Provident Stadium, making four appearances for Francis Cummins’ side so far in 2014.

And the Huddersfield Giants owned talent is hoping he and his Bulls colleagues can kick on, recording a much-needed win on Sunday afternoon.

“I think I have done pretty well so far,” added Mullally, who is being proudly sponsored by George Timberley, Amelia & Jayden Cuffe.

“I just want to build up momentum again. I am looking forward to the future here.

“We have been hit badly with injuries in recent weeks, but their absence gives me an opportunity to make a starting place for myself at prop.

“No-one is guaranteed an automatic spot in the first 13, though, so I am going to be working as hard as I possibly can to make an impression.”
