AFTER 23 breathtaking rounds, the regular season is finally over and we now know who we will face and where we will face them in the inaugural Super 8s.

The First:Utility Super League’s bottom four and the Kingstone Press Championship’s top four will comprise the eight-team mini league, starting next month.

Each team will meet each other once, with the top three guaranteeing themselves places in Super League next season.

Fourth will then meet fifth in the ‘Million Pound Game’ to determine who joins them. The loser on the other hand, will join sixth, seventh and eighth in the Kingstone Press Championship for 2016.

By securing a top-two finish in the sport’s second tier, the Bulls have earned themselves home fixtures against the teams that finished ninth and eleventh in First:Utility Super League – Widnes Vikings and Salford Red Devils.

James Lowes’ men will travel to face Hull Kingston Rovers and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, who finished the season tenth and bottom, respectively.

Bradford’s third and final away fixture will be at the home of Kingstone Press Championship League Leaders Leigh Centurions – who eventually won the season-long race for top spot last Wednesday.

The Championship’s third and fourth-placed sides, Sheffield Eagles and Halifax, will be making the trip to the Provident Stadium, Odsal – where they have both already lost this season.

Confirmation of the Super 8s fixture will be unveiled at 10.00am on Wednesday!

HEAD coach James Lowes is full of optimism heading into the Super 8s, insisting the ‘bigger picture’ is key as his Bradford Bulls enter the business end of their 2015 campaign.

The end-of-season play-offs begin in less than two weeks’ time and Bradford enter as second-placed finishers in the Kingstone Press Championship.

Over the next eight weeks, Lowes’ Bulls will face a quartet of First:Utility Super League clubs and three of their second-tier counterparts – with the right of a return to the sport’s top flight up for grabs.

Yesterday, a depleted Bradford side were edged out by local rivals Halifax.

But with a host of Bulls set to return to action in time for the opening Super 8s weekend, including Lee Gaskell, Jake Mullaney, Harry Siejka, Dale Ferguson and Adrian Purtell, Lowes is feeling positive.

“Yesterday was not about the result, it was about character building,” said the Bradford boss, who is sponsored in memory Joyce Dobby.

“We gave some of the boys an opportunity, with it being the final game of the regular season, and, in the second half, they took their chances well.

“It is always disappointing to lose but you have to look at the bigger picture and that is what we are doing.

“It is all to play for from here and we are very much looking forward to getting stuck in.”

BRADFORD Bulls ended their regular-season campaign with a narrow defeat suffered at the hands of local rivals Halifax.

Trailing 14-0 at the break, the Bulls battled back in the second half - scoring three tries to take the lead with less than 20 minutes left to play.

But Steve Tyrer’s late penalty and breakaway try meant Bradford's hard work counted for nothing, condemning James Lowes’ men to a final-day defeat.
